Plain English summary: We collect your email to create an account. Audio you record is sent through our server to AI services for transcription and is never stored. We track how many minutes you've used per month for your usage quota. Payment is handled by Razorpay — we don't see your card details.

We do not collect: names, phone numbers, IP addresses, location, device fingerprints, or transcription text. We log anonymised reliability events (e.g. audio too quiet, API errors, feature usage counts) to improve the app. These events contain no audio, no transcription text, and no personally identifiable information.
When you activate recording:
Audio is never written to disk on your device or on our server.
Chill Pill uses a global keyboard listener (via pynput) only to detect your configured hotkey (e.g., F9). We do not log, record, or transmit keystrokes. All key events other than your hotkey are ignored and immediately discarded.

Audio sent to Groq and Sarvam is not retained by default. Groq's Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policy means audio is deleted immediately after transcription.
%APPDATA%\ChillPill\settings.json (Windows) or the equivalent on macOS. It is not transmitted to anyone except our proxy server to authenticate your requests.If you enable "Start Chill Pill on login" in Settings, the app adds a registry entry at HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ChillPill. This is removed when you disable the option or uninstall. No data is collected through this feature.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our contact form. Account deletion removes your email, usage data, and subscription record. Local data (settings file, auth token) can be deleted by uninstalling the app.
Chill Pill is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice.
